HBOT Therapy

Our Hyperbaric Chambers

Perry Sigma 34 and Sigma 36 Monoplace

Chamber Types

Monoplace vs Multiplace

Hyperbaric chambers come in two basic types.

Multiplace chambers

Large, walk-in pressure vessels that treat several patients at once; staff are inside the chamber with the patients during treatment.

What we use

Monoplace chambers

Single-patient cylinders, typically clear acrylic, in which the patient lies on a comfortable stretcher while staff monitor from outside.

Both types deliver effective HBOT. The monoplace design we use offers several practical advantages for the clinic environment:

100% pure oxygen delivery

There is no need to wear a tight-fitting hood or mask, because the chamber itself is pressurized with pure oxygen.

Clear acrylic

Patients can see out at all times, reducing the sense of confinement.

Continuous one-to-one staff monitoring

A trained chamber technician watches each session.

Direct intercom

Patients and staff communicate naturally throughout.

Lower oxygen toxicity risk to staff

Since they are not pressurized themselves.

Our Equipment

Perry Baromedical Sigma 34 & Sigma 36

Our clinics operate Perry Baromedical Sigma 34 and Sigma 36 monoplace hyperbaric chambers. Perry Baromedical is a long-established U.S. manufacturer; the Sigma series is one of the most widely-deployed monoplace platforms in North American hyperbaric medicine.

Key specifications:

  • Medical-grade monoplace chambers from an established U.S. manufacturer
  • Maximum operating pressure: 3.0 ATA (treatments are typically delivered at 2.0–2.4 ATA depending on indication)
  • Pure medical-grade oxygen environment inside the chamber during treatment
  • Clear acrylic chamber wall for visibility in and out
  • Built-in intercom communication
  • Entertainment screen for video and music during treatment
  • Programmable, controlled pressurization and depressurization curves
  • Designed for daily clinical use with regulated quality assurance and inspection cycles

The Experience

What It's Like Inside

1

Getting settled & pressurization

You lie down on a comfortable stretcher that slides into the chamber. The acrylic door closes and the chamber is gradually pressurized over about ten minutes. You may feel a fullness in your ears as pressure builds — similar to descending in an airplane. Our technicians coach you through ear-clearing techniques before your first session and adjust pressurization speed if needed.

2

At treatment pressure

At treatment pressure, you breathe normally. There is no sensation of being underwater or compressed; once you’re equalized, you simply relax. You can watch a movie, listen to music, or rest. The session at pressure lasts about 90 minutes. Then the chamber gradually depressurizes over another ten minutes, and you’re free to go.

3

Monitored throughout

Throughout the session, a chamber technician remains within line of sight and audio range. You can speak with the technician at any time.

Daily Safety Routine

Checked Before Every Session

Every chamber undergoes a daily pre-session safety check by trained chamber technicians, including:

Oxygen system pressure and integrity check
Communication and emergency alarms
Door seal and acrylic integrity inspection
Fire safety equipment and environmental controls
Stretcher and patient comfort items

All chambers are operated under CSA Z275.1 (the Canadian standard for hyperbaric facilities) with documented preventive maintenance, annual third-party inspection, and a designated Safety Director at each clinic.
