Medical Disclaimer

The content on this website is intended for general educational and informational purposes about hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) and the services Evolve Hyperbarics provides. It is not medical advice. It does not constitute the practice of medicine. It does not create a physician-patient relationship by itself.

Individual Variability

Outcomes from HBOT vary from patient to patient. Where this site refers to expected benefits, ranges of response, or typical session counts, those statements describe what is typical for the patient population — they are not a guarantee for any individual. Two patients with the same diagnosis can respond differently.

Off-Label and Investigational Uses

Some of the conditions discussed on this site are not on Ontario’s OHIP-covered list and are not recognized indications by the Undersea & Hyperbaric Medical Society. We discuss these conditions because patients and physicians ask us about them, because there is a biologically defensible rationale for considering HBOT in selected cases, and because some patients elect to proceed on a private-pay basis with informed consent. The evidence base for off-label uses ranges from limited to mixed; we are explicit about this on each relevant page. The discussion of these conditions on this site is not an endorsement and is not a recommendation that they be treated with HBOT.

HBOT is Adjunctive

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is, in almost all cases, an adjunct to standard medical care, not a replacement for it. HBOT does not replace surgery, antibiotics, wound care, cancer treatment, or any other primary therapy that is otherwise indicated.

When to Seek Urgent Care

If you have a medical emergency, do not contact Evolve. Call 911 or proceed to the nearest emergency department. Our outpatient clinics are not equipped for after-hours emergency care.

No Testimonials with Medical Claims

Per CPSO advertising policy, this site does not feature patient testimonials that include medical claims. Where patient stories are published in our blog or video library, they are reviewed for compliance with CPSO Policy #2-16 (Advertising) and accompanied by appropriate disclosures and consent.

Evidence and References

Clinical claims on this site are supported by references — typically peer-reviewed journals, the UHMS Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Indications text (14th edition), the Tenth European Consensus Conference, Cochrane systematic reviews, and Ontario regulatory documents. The references appear at the bottom of each substantive clinical page.

Confirm With Your Physician

Before making any change to your treatment based on information you read here, please consult with your family physician, your specialist, or an Evolve hyperbaric physician at consultation. This site supports informed decision-making; it does not replace the consultation itself.
