Evidence-Based Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, Close to Home
Mission
Our Mission
Our Mission
Expand evidence-based, physician-supervised hyperbaric oxygen therapy across Ontario — close to where patients live, integrated with their existing care, and delivered to standards that match the published evidence.
In Practice
What This Means in Practice
Evidence first
We treat the indications for which the published evidence is strong, using protocols that reflect current best practice. When evidence is mixed or evolving, we say so. When evidence is absent, we don’t offer the treatment — full stop.
Physician-led, physician-owned
Clinical decisions at Evolve are made by physicians, not administrators. The physicians who supervise our clinics also hold equity in them. Accountability runs through medical training, not corporate structure.
Access where it’s needed
Ontario has historically had a severe access gap for hyperbaric medicine. Our role is to close that gap — particularly outside the academic centres where hospital-based hyperbaric programs have traditionally concentrated. Sudbury was the first physician-supervised HBOT clinic in Northern Ontario. We continue to build where access is missing.
Integration with existing care
HBOT works best when it sits inside a coordinated care pathway. Our model is built around referring physicians and existing specialty teams — wound care, vascular surgery, plastic surgery, radiation oncology, ENT, orthopedics, family medicine. We send detailed clinical updates back to referring providers. We do not compete with primary care or specialty care; we extend it.
Regulatory humility
We operate under the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) and align with provincial and national safety standards including CSA Z275.1. We treat regulatory expectations as a floor, not a ceiling.
