Dr. Vik Agarwal completed his medical degree at the University of Western Ontario in 2000, followed by family medicine training at the University of Toronto. After practicing in a variety of clinical settings, he returned to specialty training, completing a residency in Diagnostic Radiology at the University of Toronto in 2014 and a subspecialty fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at the University Health Network in 2015.
Dr. Agarwal became interested in hyperbaric medicine after seeing its impact in his interventional radiology practice — particularly in patients with complex wounds and osteomyelitis after surgical and endovascular revascularization. These were patients in whom blood flow had been restored mechanically but where tissue oxygenation at the wound level remained inadequate. Hyperbaric oxygen, used as an adjunct, made a measurable difference in healing trajectories. He completed a mini-fellowship in Hyperbaric Medicine through the UHMS PATH program with the longer-term goal of expanding access to these treatments in Ontario.
Today, Dr. Agarwal practices a mix of diagnostic and interventional radiology alongside hyperbaric medicine, and serves as President of Evolve Hyperbarics, overseeing the strategic direction and clinical standards of the network.
